Visual Effects Society announces VES Awards nominees

Visual Effects Society has revealed the nominees for this year's VES Awards. Iron Man leads the pack with five nominations, followed by The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Cloverfield and Hellboy II: The Golden Army with four nods each. Mad Men’s Matthew Weiner closes deal with Lionsgate

AMC's Golden Globe winning series Mad Men has got its showrunner back. After several months of negotiations, Matthew Weiner and Lionsgate TV inked a two-year, seven-figure deal that will keep Weiner on board as showrunner and executive producer of Mad Men. Under the deal he will also develop new projects for the network, including a feature film. British Academy releases final BAFTA nominations

The British Academy released the final list of nominees for this year's British Academy Film Awards on Thursday morning. Broadcast Film Critics honour Slumdog Millionaire, Heath Ledger, Sean Penn

The Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) announced the winners of the 14th Critics' Choice Awards at a ceremony held yesterday at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. Slumdog Millionaire was the big winner of the evening, taking five awards for Best Picture, Best Director for Danny Boyle, Best Writer for Simon Beaufoy, Best Young Actor/Actress for Dev Patel and Best Composer for A.R.
