Canadian crime drama Durham County, which follows a homicide cop who lives next door to a serial killer, won three trophies at the 23rd Gemini Awards this Friday. The Englishman’s Boy, a miniseries set in 1870s Saskatchewan and 1920s Los Angeles, was the other big winner at this year’s Canada’s television awards.
This year, the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television had decided to split the categories and announce the winners at four events instead of hosting a single ceremony for almost 100 categories.
On the final evening, fourteen Geminis and a special award were presented at the Metro Convention Centre in Toronto. Canadian actor Jason Priestley (Beverly Hills 90210) hosted the event.
