Emmy winning drama The Tudors and miniseries adaptation of Guy Vanderhaeghe’s award-winning 1996 novel, The Englishman’s Boy, were the big winners at last night’s Gemini Awards ceremony. A total of 33 prizes were awarded to television shows in the drama, comedy and variety categories.
Two special prizes were also presented at the event: the Earle Grey lifetime achievement award went to actor David Gardner and the Margaret Collier award to the late television writer David Cole.
The 23rd annual Gemini Awards will conclude with the Broadcast Gala on November 28.
